I specialize in creating homes that are very catered to my clients personal style and taste. It is a  mix of old and new - and houses a lot of collected and found items. I like to root the space with traditional shapes and lighten it up with pops of contemporary silhouettes. \u003C/span>\u003C/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\u003Chr />\r\n\r\n\u003Ch2 style=\"text-align: center;\">\u003Cspan style=\"font-family: opensans-regular;\">\u003Cstrong>Tell us about a notable project from the past few years. \u003C/strong>\u003C/span>\u003C/h2>\r\n\u003Cspan style=\"font-weight: 300; font-family: opensans-regular;\">A project that is very near and dear to me would probably have to be the first one I completed as Chrissy Ritter LLC. This was a young family on the Upper West Side, who purchased a beautiful five bedroom and we did a big renovation. \u003C/span>\r\n\u003Cblockquote>\r\n\u003Cp style=\"text-align: center;\">\u003Cspan style=\"font-family: opensans-regular;\">\u003Cstrong>\"This family was a true joy to work with and it really gave me the confidence boost I needed to kick start my career. font-family: opensans-regular;\">The biggest joys are definitely \u003Cem>\u003Cstrong>seeing my clients' faces at installation\u003C/strong>\u003C/em>. The biggest challenges come with \u003Cem>\u003Cstrong>trusting your judgment\u003C/strong>\u003C/em> and knowing when to push on something or when to let it go. \u003C/span>\r\n\r\n\u003Chr />\r\n\r\n\u003Ch2 style=\"text-align: center;\">\u003Cspan style=\"font-family: opensans-regular;\">\u003Cstrong>Are there any design trends you see on the horizon for the year to come? Any trends on their way out? \u003C/strong>\u003C/span>\u003C/h2>\r\n\u003Cspan style=\"font-weight: 300; font-family: opensans-regular;\">I try my best to stay away from trend forecasting \u003Cem>but\u003C/em> I like to think \u003Cem>\u003Cstrong>maximalism is in and minimalism is out\u003C/strong>\u003C/em>. For someone who’s never worked with a designer, what’s the major upside? \u003C/strong>\u003C/span>\u003C/h2>\r\n\u003Cspan style=\"font-weight: 300; font-family: opensans-regular;\">I would tell them to remember that \u003Cem>\u003Cstrong>interior design is a professional service\u003C/strong>\u003C/em>, and to never be intimidated by asking a professional for some help. Interior designers are there to work with any and all types of people and projects, and \u003Cem>\u003Cstrong>I always think the more help the client needs, the better! \u003C/strong>\u003C/em>\u003C/span>\r\n\u003Cblockquote>\r\n\u003Cp style=\"text-align: center;\">\u003Cspan style=\"font-family: opensans-regular;\">\u003Cstrong>\"For those who haven’t worked with a designer, the major upside is unlocking an entirely new world of sources and ideas that they may not have previously thought of.\"\u003C/strong>\u003C/span>\u003C/p>\r\n\u003C/blockquote>\r\n\u003Cspan style=\"font-weight: 300; font-family: opensans-regular;\"> It also takes a lot of \u003Cem>\u003Cstrong>time and energy to design and install a home\u003C/strong>\u003C/em>, so for clients to be able to gain this time back for themselves is definitely a luxury. \u003C/span>\r\n\r\n\u003Chr />\r\n\r\n\u003Ch2 style=\"text-align: center;\">\u003Cspan style=\"font-family: opensans-regular;\">\u003Cstrong>Speaking to fellow design pros: what advice do you have about working a challenging client or overcoming unforeseen obstacles on a design project? \u003C/strong>\u003C/span>\u003C/h2>\r\n\u003Cspan style=\"font-weight: 300; font-family: opensans-regular;\">Every project, no matter how perfectly we do our job, has an unforeseen obstacle. At the end of the day, we are in the client service business and \u003Cem>\u003Cstrong>the most important aspect of our job is making the client happy\u003C/strong>\u003C/em>.
